UPDATE: Have written an analysis on Neeld's sacking

Here's some issues on the agenda this morning:

Mark Neeld's sacking as Melbourne coach.

Fans and commentators whinge too much about umpiring.

GWS is not doing well enough.

The Crows are gone for 2013, they won't make the finals and leave too much to Patrick Dangerfield.

Joe Daniher and Jaeger O'Meara could be superstars of the future.

  • Hi Rohan. Tigers put in a mature team performance on the weekend. For a gameplan that isn't overly physical, when they tackle and pressure, it all seems to click. Two question Rohan. Surely the Tiges are a very good chance of breaking the finals drought? ( Don't want to get too excited and you're pretty honest about the Tiges). And, should Dusty be used as a Paul Chapman forward/midfield type. He could kick 40-50 in a season quite easily (and I think he and Jack will stay).

    • Hi Yokamo, Agree, was a good, solid win, just what they needed. I didn't tip them to make the eight, but looking at the draw, I've now got them winning 13 games, which should be enough, so yes, very good chance. As for Martin, agree, big enough tank has been the issue, but I thought Saturday was one of the more consistent games I've seen him play.

    • Agreed - Tigers will finish 8th with 13 wins to play either Dons or Pies in first week in front of 95,000!

  • Great article about complaining about the umpires Rohan, I'm sick of hearing it too.

Neeld's gone - has there ever been a coach sacking that was less expected than this in your time in the media? Was Malcolm Blight at the Saints the most suprising?

    • Hi Edgar, Thanks, just think on umpiring you can't see we want less interference then start screaming when they don't interfere as much! Have written an analysis on Neeld which should be up soon, it's certainly been on the cards a while now. Blight sacking probably the most surprising off the top of my head, yes.

    • Hi Nick, status quo prevails. Seems to be more people convinced he's going. I'm still not necessarily of that view.

  • Hi Rohan
. Neil Craig good fitness coach but cant see how he is best replacement for Neeld he should have won a premiership at Adelaide with the team he had.
Crows woes is it all about what has happened off field should Trigg have been sacked.

    • Hi Rod, Craig is an obvious stand-in for now, but has already said he's not interested in coaching again at senior level. Not sure if Crows' issues just about off-field, but certainly hasn't helped. And yep, think Trigg probably should have been sacked.

  • Should the AFL be considering closing down GWS. 1500 paying spectators is such a low base to work from, I can't see how they will ever be able to build a supporter base from such a low base. Besides that i just don't think anyone cares about them.
