Collingwood onballer Luke Ball was subbed out of Friday's game with calf tightness but acting football manager Rodney Eade said he remained confident the issue was no worse than tightness.
He said the club would scan the leg to be certain there had been no tear.
Eade said midfielder Dayne Beams, who was a late withdrawal from the side with back tightness that caused pain into the hamstring and calf, would likely be fit to play this week.
Recruited wingman Clinton Young, who has barely played this year through a range of foot and hamstring injuries, is due to play in the VFL this week.
Small forward Andrew Krakouer and ruckman Darren Jolly both played well in the VFL.
