Ratten only wants a senior coaching job

Sacked Carlton coach Brett Ratten has all but ruled out a move to Greater Western Sydney, confirming he is only interested in a senior coaching role.

Speaking on Adelaide radio tonight, he said he had spoken with Port Adelaide chief executive Keith Thomas and next week intended to meet the selection committee formed to find a replacement for its sacked coach, Matthew Primus.

"I'll ask questions of the football club as well. I want to make sure everyone is on the same page," he told 5AA.

Ratten and former Sydney and Western Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade are the front-runners for the Port job.
