Collingwood's Steele Sidebottom, who comes out of contract at the end of 2014, says he is close to signing a new deal.
"I'll be re-signing ASAP," Sidebottom said on Channel Nine's The Sunday Footy Show.
Sidebottom also talked up teammate Scott Pendlebury, emphasising the Pies skipper's effort in Saturday night's 20-point win over Sydney.
With the focus on contested footy for the Pies after quarter time, Sidebottom said Pendlebury led the way.
"I think "Pendles" was the bloke that really drove that after quarter-time," he said.
Sidebottom also lauded the rest of the team's efforts, including the performance of Jack Frost - and the Collingwood backline - on new Swan Lance Franklin.
But Sidebottom's praise for another teammate, Brent Macaffer, was less effusive.
About Macaffer's game on Sydney's Kieren Jack, Sidebottom said his teammate did a good job.
"He kept him quiet," Sidebottom said. "But he hurt me, I've got Jack in my Supercoach team."
Saturday night's game also marked former skipper Nick Maxwell's 200th game. Sidebottom said Maxwell had an impact on him personally from the moment he arrived at Collingwood.
"[The win] was a good reward for him." Sidebottom said.
