Tapscott's guilty plea cuts penalty

Melbourne's Luke Tapscott will miss the club's round 13 match against Greater Western Sydney after accepting a one-match ban for striking Collingwood's Alex Fasolo.

Tapscott's clash with Fasolo during the third quarter of the Queen's Birthday clash initially drew 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. But his early guilty plea reduced the penalty to only one game.

Collingwood midfielder Dane Swan will contest a tripping charge arising from Monday's game. The Brownlow Medallist was reported for tripping Demon Sam Blease during the third term.

In-form Collingwood midfielder Dayne Beams will not contest a $1950 fine for making reckless contact with umpire Jordan Bannister during the fourth quarter.
