Hard-working Richmond midfielder Shane Tuck has agreed to a new one-year deal with the AFL club.
The 30-year-old 162-gamer was the Tigers’ top tackler and contested possession-winner this season, played all 22 games and was fourth in the club’s best and fairest award.
It was Tuck’s fourth top-five finish in his nine AFL seasons, despite having battled at times in his career to earn regular senior selection.
Richmond football manager Craig Cameron said the veteran had made himself a key plank of the Tiger midfield.
‘‘Shane has worked as hard as anyone to earn his place in the Richmond team and the consistency of his performances this year has been outstanding,’’ Cameron said.
‘‘Shane’s ability to win the ball and bring his teammates into the play has been integral to the improvement shown by the entire midfield group this year.’’
