Essendon great Tim Watson says he would be devastated if his son, Bombers skipper Jobe Watson, is stripped of his Brownlow Medal as part of the supplements investigation centred on the club, but has been reassured the award is safe.

Watson told Channel Seven on Wednesday night Jobe had told him nothing Essendon's players took last year was outside the guidelines set by anti-doping authorities.

''That [the threat over the medal] would be devastating but because he's not concerned about that I'm not concerned about that either,'' Watson said.
