Carlton's chief executive Greg Swann has denied that the Blues are after Demon Jack Watts.

Swann spoke on SEN radio this morning, describing talk of a trade as 'absolute crap'.

"I don't know where it's coming from," he said. "We haven't spoken to them, they haven't spoken to us."

He said he had recieved many calls on the trade rumour this morning, and wanted to come out and deny the story publicly.

Swann also confirmed that Carlton wants to keep young hard man Tom Bell, who debuted for the Blues towards the end of the season.

He said the club was still working out whether Bell would remain as a senior player or as a rookie.

  • Carlton and GWS have shown interest in St Kilda's Raphael Clarke. Clarke's manager Tim Hazell spoke to the AFL website, confirming those clubs' interest in the unrestricted free agent. Hazell said the Blues and the Giants have inquired about Clarke's future, but no offers have been tabled yet. Carlton CEO Greg Swann denied the rumours on Melbourne radio this morning.
