Will the Hawks soar over the Blues?

With the sun beaming down over the MCG, Rohan Connolly delivers his tips on which teams will triumph this weekend.

We'll leave it there for today, folks. Thanks for all the questions and comments, some really good games this week, and great to get back to nine games instead of this namby-pamby half-dozen stuff, right? Have a great footy weekend everyone, and we'll catch you back here at 12pm next Thursday.

Are West Coast players bending the rules? The Eagles have received their fair share of free kicks for high contact this season and are now fending off suggestions they have developed a system of getting off dubious handballs.

West Coast coach John Worsfold maintains his players are handballing much more effectively this season, but the focus on the Eagles' disposal is bound to make the umpires keep a close eye on the packs in Saturday's game against Gold Coast.

That match is set to give West Coast a welcome respite after a torrid match against Collingwood last weekend, when the Eagles went down by less than a kick but convinced some of the doubters they are a genuine premiership contender.

Collingwood's win moved it a game clear at the top of the ladder, and the Magpies will be aiming for a 10th-straight win against the under-performing Fremantle at the MCG on Saturday.

Are the Magpies the best team in it? Can the Dockers post an upset? And what can we expect from the round 14 opener, when in-form Hawthorn takes on a Carlton side reeling from three straight defeats and hoping to put more off-field controversies behind it?
