He's the man tasked with trying to keep a lid on one of the Swans' biggest superstars and one of their youngest when the Kangaroos square off against Sydney in Hobart on Saturday.

Tippett hasn't played since injuring his hamstring in round 12, but he's close to full fitness and only needs to get through training on Thursday to ensure his place against North Melbourne.

Naismith will likely start in the ruck with Tippett to be eased back through the forward line, although he'll still shoulder his share of the work against Goldstein.

"He's really found a new lease on life this year, hasn't he," Goldstein said of Tippett.

"I imagine they'll probably keep Naismith in probably for this week especially so it's going to definitely be a difficult task, he's been playing some pretty good footy the last month.

"With him and Kurt rotating it'll give them a massive boost and it'll probably even help them having him forward, it'll give them another avenue."

North Melbourne will turn its attention to the Swans on Wednesday, beginning the unenviable task of dissecting the Saturday night demolition of St Kilda which thrust Sydney to premiership favouritism.

After a tight first half, a Lance Franklin-inspired Swans booted 15 goals to four following the main break. Franklin drifted up the ground and managed an astonishing 15 disposals and three goals in the third quarter alone.

"He's obviously been one of the best players in the game for a fair while now," Goldstein said.

"I did see the scores at half-time and saw it was five points the difference and then you check back 20 minutes later and it's 40 points or whatever it was.

"It just shows how quickly someone like him can take the game away from you.

"With that midfield, you look at [Dan] Hannebery, [Luke] Parker, [Josh] Kennedy. It's unbelievably hard to stop and if they're getting on top and giving Buddy 55 opportunities to hit the scoreboard, it's a very very potent side.

"We know we're up against it this week, we know they obviously touched us up a fair bit at the SCG [in round 10] so we need to learn from that and we need to make sure that we're coming and playing our best footy."
