After overcoming a recent hip injury, Tippett will join Gary Rohan in the nation's capital on Saturday playing NEAFL football against the Canberra Demons, with the latter back in the fold after his sickening crash to the turf two weeks ago in the loss against Carlton.

Sydney coach John Longmire could find no place for the pair for Sunday's clash with North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium, and for the first time this season he will take an unchanged team to Melbourne as he chases a second-straight win.

"Gary and Kurt will be playing in the reserves just to get some really continuous footy under their belt. Both of them haven't played much football so they need to be able to get back in and play the game, run around and get some conditioning and also some touch," Longmire said.

"We just thought that the lack of match play that they've had probably counted against them a little bit. Hopefully they get through the game and are feeling good for next week."

Tippett has managed just three games this season having suffered ankle and hip injuries and has kickedonly two goals, while Rohan has played just twice thanks to a delayed pre-season because of a back problem.

For the towering ruckman it continues a frustrating 12 months which has also included a serious hamstring injury and a fractured jaw, denying him any chance to build a solid run of form at AFL level.

On Saturday he'll become one of the most expensive players to ever run around in the NEAFL, although Demons coach Kade Klemke said the former Crow wouldn't receive any special attention from his part-timers.

"To be honest, the Swans aren't just a one-man team and we've got to respect all of their players," Klemke said.

"I don't think going after one individual is going to win us a game of football. We've got to look at the way we can stop them as a team, and not getting access to him down in the forward line if he goes through there.

"Stopping him getting the ball will go a long way to winning the game.

"Playing in this competition there's always some good players that come back through the NEAFL, I think at one stage Adam Goodes came back through the NEAFL.

"That's why a lot of the guys like playing in this competition because we do come up against opposition that have got AFL experience and are proven at playing well at the top level."

The Swans run into a red-hot North Melbourne on Sunday, fresh from a 59-point flogging of ladder leader Adelaide.

Key forward Jarrad Waite will miss the game for the Kangaroos after copping a suspension for rough conduct against the Crows.

Sydney small forward Tom Papley said his side would need to be at its best.

"They get out the back a lot and kick a few goals like that, big Ben Brown down there can take a few marks, we've just got to make sure that they don't dominate too much," Papley said.

"In midfield they've got [Jack] Ziebell. [Shaun] Higgins is in some really good form.

"We've looked at it pretty hard. North have a fair bit of talls down [back] there so it's important to move around and get those lead-ups on them and make sure they don't roll off and mark."
