Through his role in "The Castle", as Laurence the Barrister, fighting the government on behalf of the Aussie battler, he will live on for ever. The spirit of Bud Tingwell might wane? "Tell 'em they're dreamin'!"

A hundred years ago,(20 years) when I was a new junior working in a music store,Bud and his wife walked in to buy some classical music. As a 23 year old I knew nothing about classical music but Bud chatted to me about the music, the style and helped my naive self navigate my way through a sale where most classical enthusiasts would have left me embarressed and have short changed me.He was gentle,he was kind,he was sweet and he was a true gentleman. I will never forget that meeting. I knew he was famous but I was bowled over by the charming and sincere way he dealt with me… a young recruit, naive with absolutely no idea, but he treated me with respect and dignity and I will never forget that small but hugely significant moment in my life.In that short interraction,Bud taught me about humility, respect for your fellow humans, how never to judge and how to give kindness without asking for anything in return. The mark of a true and a great man and wonderful human being. To his family, much sympathy, but to his family, a knowledge that this beautiful man has left such a huge and significant contribution to this world.Thank you Bud xx
