Six more communities in northern Queensland will receive extra aid for flood damage.
The local government areas of Burdekin, Lockhart River, Hinchinbrook, Banana, Gladstone and Rockhampton will receive assistance under the natural disaster relief and recovery arrangements (NDRRA), acting emergency management minister Jason Clare and Queensland police minister Jack Dempsey said a joint statement on Saturday.
Mr Clare said more communities were being affected by damaging winds, heavy rainfall and flooding as ex-tropical cyclone Oswald continued its path south.
"It is important that disaster assistance is extended to these communities," he said.
Mr Dempsey said the NDRRA assistance included distress payments to individuals, counter disaster operations, and it meant community assets could be repaired.
He said 25 councils were eligible for assistance.
