The apartment complex on the former site of Canberra House is one step closer to opening, with the structure of the 16-storey building completed.
The developers marked the milestone with a "topping out" ceremony on Monday, which on this occasion consisted of a pine tree concreted into a skip bin and craned up to the highest point of the building.
The $65 million Mayfair Apartments complex, on the corner of West Row and Alinga Street, will include 191 apartments over 12 levels, a commercial gym, and retail and restaurant space.
Morris Property Group director Barry Morris said construction was on schedule and expected to be finished by November, with 659 workers inducted for the site.
Three-quarters of the development has already been sold.
