Family and friends of the store were handed an early copy of the catalogue on Friday night before a traditional crayfish dinner with meatballs and lingonberry jam.

Family members and loyal customers wore crayfish-style bibs and party hats as Swedish workers on secondment led them through drinking songs and shots of schnapps.

Store manager Mark Mitchinson told the audience an additional 50-60 staff would begin working with the store in the next week before 250 staff sign in on opening day.

"A little over a year ago we announced we would build a store here, and ever since then it's been full steam ahead," he said.

"For the next months, we will have more than 180 containers with product arrive and 9287 articles will be in the store when it opens, so we will need a lot of people building a lot of furniture."

The store announced this week it would be fully dependent on renewable energy by 2020 thanks to 2000 solar panels, thick insulations, LED lights, and airlock revolving doors to maintain comfortable temperatures
