Jetstar boss Jayne Hrdlicka has resigned from the board of supermarket giant Woolworths, which has appointed two new board members.
Woolworths chairman Gordon Cairns said Ms Hrdlicka had decided that she could not balance the demands of the board with her position as Jetstar Group chief executive and Qantas Group Executive Committee member.
"She has made a significant contribution to the board over her tenure and we wish her well for the future," Mr Cairns said.
Woolworths announced on Monday morning that Holly Kramer will join the retailer as a non-executive director, bringing with her experience as chief executive at apparel chain Best & Less and group managing director and chief of marketing at Telstra.
Mr Kramer, whose appointment was flagged in November, is also a non-executive director of Nine Entertainment, Australia Post and AMP Limited.
She will be joined by Ten Network, Nova Entertainment and the Australian Ballet non-executive director Siobhan McKenna, who is also an MCG Trust trustee, a former Australian Productivity Commission commissioner and former NBNCo chairwoman.
The resignation and new appointments are with immediate effect.
