Crowding out Abbott

Some political issues develop such momentum and public interest that they crowd out everything else in media reportage of public affairs. That has happened with the twin sagas of Bronwyn Bishop and Adam Goodes over the past two or three weeks. They both now appear to have been resolved for the time being with the resignation of Bishop from the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives and indications that Goodes will return to the Sydney Swans team this week following the tremendous, though certainly not unanimous support, he has received from the community.
