Barking up the wrong tree

Transport and Municipal Services Minister Megan Fitzharris was not only in a rush to trump Liberals' Alistair Coe on the Horse Park Drive upgrade announcement last weekend ("Labor playing catch-up not a good look", Editorial, Times2, May 3, p2). She also couldn't bear to have the protest ribbons tied to 100 trees in Northbourne Avenue seen by the public, so TAMS staff were quickly put on the job at the weekend to remove them. Fortunately, The Canberra Times had been quick to capture the moment ("New tree protest to flag tram plan opposition", May 1, p9).
