"Ms" was popularised in the 1960s enabling women to be accepted in their own right, not through their wedded status of "Miss" or "Mrs". Thirty years ago, I believed the future held great things for gender equality. We were riding high on the tails of Ms Magazine, The Female Eunuch, "equal pay", no fault divorce, and paid work after marriage.
