Federal ICAC: Politicians unite over a controlled peep at errant business

We saw a rare display of political bipartisanship in the argument about royal commissions, ASIC and banking this week. Superficially, Labor and the Coalition couldn't have had more different positions. But both had rejected the idea of any sort of standing inquiry into corruption, or a federal ICAC, and both were proposing much weaker and narrower alternatives.
