Former prime minister Chris Watson and King O'Malley almost certainly fell foul of Section 44

The deputy prime minister, Barnaby Joyce, is not the highest-ranking Australian politician to have his credentials questioned in regard to Section 44 of the Constitution over the citizenship issue. That honour rightly belongs to Australia's third prime minister (and first Labor prime minister) Chris Watson.
