While every effort will be made to publish advertisements as ordered, no liability can be accepted for the misplacement, amendment, omission or failure to publish in the form ordered. The publishers reserve the right to classify an advertisement, edit or delete any wording considered objectionable, or reject advertising which in their opinion may be considered unsuitable for publication. No allowance will be made for errors unless attention is drawn to them within 48 hours of publication. The publisher’s terms and conditions are set out in its current Rate Card, which is available on request. (Telephone 6280 2179)They also include an indemnity from the advertiser and any advertising agent. Advertisers and agents are advised to read the card before placing any advertisement or series of advertisements. Every effort is made to eliminate false and misleading advertising. Ads that inconvenience or disappoint readers have no place in our classified columns. In lodging an advertisement with us you agree that we may publish the advertisement on our website. The general terms and conditions that apply to publication of advertisements in our newspaper apply also to publication on our website. |

Advertisements can be paid for in the following ways:At The Canberra Times front counter: cash, cheque, credit card or eftpos Over the telephone: credit card or invoice (unless the advertisement requires prepayment). Invoices can then be paid at The Canberra Times front counter, at any Australia Post branch, or by phoning our accounts department and quoting your credit card number on (02) 6280 2129. |

| Pre-paid classifications |

The following classifications require prepayment unless the advertiser has a monthly account.Accommodation Vacant, Wanted to Buy, Accommodation Wanted, Wanted to Hire, Adult Services, Wanted to Rent, Business for Sale, Work Wanted, Business Wanted, Personal Classifieds, Business Opportunities. Classifieds that do not have a payment matched to the booking (for these classifications) will not appear. All payments must be received before the first run date in the booking schedule. Unfortunately we can not facilitate direct deposit payments. |

Casual Classified Rates per single column lineMonday – Friday $5.86 GST inclusive Saturday $7.21 GST inclusive Sunday $3.59 GST inclusive Minimum classified lineage charge is for 3 lines in single column format and 24 lines in double column format. You receive approximately 22-24 character per line, which includes all punctuation and spaces. The first word of the advertisement is in Bold Caps and therefore uses more spaces. Numbers and abbreviations can not be accepted as the first word of the advertisement.
Display Classified Rates per single column cm Monday – Friday $23.46 GST inclusive Saturday $28.83 GST inclusive Sunday $14.33 GST inclusive
* Display classifieds are calculated at 4 lines per single column cm.
* Minimum height for display classifieds is 4cm.
* We do not accept half sizes (with the exception of the Propertyguide). |

We are able to set the artwork for display advertisements at no extra charge*. You can include a business logo, special border, colour or photo image. Bookings and copy must adhere to the relevant deadlines. Please contact a friendly sales consultant on (02) 6280 2179 or (02) 6280 2192 for further information about your display advertisement.
Proofs and booking confirmations are sent for nearly all advertisements with the excpetion of late bookings or changes. We reserve the right to not book any advertisements after the relevant deadlines. If we do accept a late booking, you may be required to agree that no proofs will be forwarded.

Remember: when placing an ad in the classifieds, less is not always best! The more description you use, the faster you will sell your item. Which car would you choose to look at first?

Logos - We have a library of “attention-getter” logos which will enable advertisers in various sections of the classifieds to highlight their advertisement, by using a logo which is relevant to the copy in the advertisement. Births, Birthdays, Weddings, For Sales, Garage Sales and Motor Vehicle just to name a few.
These special sales logos are priced at $12.50 GST inclusive single column and $25.00 GST inclusive double column.
When sales logos are used, a ruled line is always required at the top and bottom of the advertisement and there is a charge of one extra line of type to cover these rules.
Special House Logos – Several special house logos, i.e. “Visit”, “Private Sale” and our Christmas “Santa Logos” are available at a reduced cost of $8.25 GST inclusive. For a list of available logos, please see the heading at the top of this page titled 'Classifieds Logos'.
Ruled Line - A ruled line at the top and bottom of your advertisement can be purchased for the cost of one line of text. This is a simple way of separating your advertisement from the ads above and below.
Highlight lines/headlines - In addition to sales logos we offer a series of highlight lines. These are designed to illuminate the benefits of your classified message. We have several different types and sizes of highlight lines available for use in an advertisement. When highlight lines are used, a ruled line is always included at the top and bottom of the advertisement and there is a charge of one extra line of type to cover these rules.
Special ruled borders - To make your advertisement stand out even more, you can place a special ruled border around it. There are many different thicknesses and styles available, which gives you’re the opportunity of selecting the one just right for your advertisement. Available for both single and double column advertisements.
Photographs - Photographs can now be included in your lineage classifieds. This is a great way to introduce your new baby, or to celebrate a special event, i.e. birthday, 21st, engagement or wedding. Mono photographs can be included in the motoring and for sale sections. Mono photos are available Monday to Friday and we can offer colour photographs within the announcements section of the Saturday and Sunday editions.
