November was a quiet month for Your Turn, Screen Play's series of reader-penned articles and reviews. We only had three reader-submitted pieces last month, but they were of unusually high quality, so judging them was difficult.
First we had Steven "Smoolander" Smoothy ranting about ridiculous examples of recent video game advertising, including slapping Master Chief's face (such as it is) onto junk food packaging. Next, last month's winner Ryan "ryvman" Crawford described how setting himself rules in Borderlands became an important self-help tool to improve his ability to make decisions. Finally, Corey Lee discussed the arrival of the Wii U, asking if we're ready for a new generation of gaming hardware yet.
All three pieces provoked interesting discussions in the comments, but there can be only one winner. After umming and ahhing, I've decided to award the Sony PS Vita portable gaming console to Corey Lee. He has submitted several great articles this year, and I'm happy that he has finally taken home the prize.
Many thanks to Steven and Ryan for their excellent contributions, and I hope they will continue to submit more high quality articles in future.
Do you want to win a PS Vita handheld, kindly provided by Sony Australia? Easy! Come up with an interesting topic and write an article - a personal story, a profound insight, or just a straight-up review - then send it to me at SPYourTurn@gmail.com. We will have a slightly wonky schedule, as the blog will go on four weeks hiatus late this month, so judging for December and January Your Turns and Your Reviews will take place on Thursday 31 January 2013. That's right, in the future!
