Doctor Who will soon be landing his Tardis all over Australia and New Zealand.
Australian developers Useless Creations and BBC Worldwide Australia and New Zealand have released the Official Doctor Who Virtual TARDIS App for Apple's iOS platform. The app allows you to fly the ship through the time vortex, or land it wherever you are and take a photo to share on social media.
The recent 50th anniversary episode Day of the Doctor saw three versions of the Tardis stand side by side, but the official app has six versions.
The earliest version is the first Doctor William Hartnell's Tardis, which turns the photo black and white since all of the first Doctor's adventures were filmed in monochrome. Users can tap on the door of the Tardis to peer inside.
BBC head of brand licensing and live entertainment Helen Pendlebury said: "This latest fun app puts the Tardis in fan's pockets, enabling them to fly to the planet Skaro – or just to the end of the garden path. And with the photo-sharing facility we look forward to seeing where the Tardis ends up."
Useless Creations was also the developer of the Official Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver App, which topped the entertainment charts in Australia, New Zealand, Britain and the US upon its release earlier this year.
