Gerry Dorizas will take up his role effective March 1, taking over from Mike Devereux who will take up a position with General Motors’ International Operations having run Holden for the past four years.
Most recently he was CEO of Volkswagen Group Sales in India.
“Gerry has the right industry-leading experience and credentials to lead GM Holden through a significant program of change, as it transitions to a National Sales Company,” said Stefan Jacoby, president of GM International Operations.
Dorizas will be responsible for overseeing the closure of Holden’s Elizabeth manufacturing operations in 2017 and turning Holden into a fully imported brand.
“Around the world, Holden is renowned for the strength of its product and professionalism of its people,” Dorizas said.
“I am energised by the opportunity to lead a talented and passionate team and to guide one of Australia’s strongest, most iconic brands into its next phase.”
