In The Survivor (1981, M), airline pilot Keller (Robert Powell) is the only survivor of a crash landing. Guilt-ridden and bewildered at his loss of memory, he becomes increasingly paranoid. A POULTRY MATTER
The Royal Canberra National Poultry Show has hundreds of birds – chickens, turkeys and ducks – and dozens of breeds in competition. The feature breed this year is Pekin (not surprisingly, it originated in Peking, China). It’s on at the Fitzroy Pavilion, Exhibition Park In Canberra, Flemington Road, Mitchell from 9am to 5pm. ORGAN MUSIC
A free open day at the Albert Hall from 11am to 3pm is being sponsored by the ACT government and the Theatre Organ Society ACT. Come and hear the 1933 Compton Theatre Pipe Organ which has been installed in the hall for 28 years. This year the organ is celebrating the 80th anniversary of its opening at the Gaumont Palace Cinema, Cheltenham,England. The event will feature on the hour, 20 minutes of popular music played by members of TOSA ACT, followed by inspection of the organ and pipe chambers.
