TV hero MacGyver heading to Perth for Oz Comic-Con

Get your rope, paperclips and other miscellaneous items ready, MacGyver is coming to town.

The resourceful TV hero, known in real life as Richard Dean Anderson, will join Star Trek's Captain Kirk, William Shatner and The Rocky Horror Picture Show's original Magenta, Patricia Quinn at WA's answer to Comic-Con.

The inaugural Oz Comic-Con will be at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on March 9 and 10, with comic book and anime artists, film screenings, gaming demonstrations, creative workshops and masterclasses in addition to the celebrity appearances.

Retailers will also be onsite selling rare merchandise, collectables and comic books.

General admission tickets are available through Ticketmaster at $20 for one day or $35 for two days, but those wanting to go the whole hog could fork out up to $500.

Getting up close and personal with the master of escape will set fans back $275. The Richard Dean Anderson Experience Tickets allow the bearer one autograph and photo with Anderson and reserved seating at the MacGyver panel.

Meanwhile, the Ultimate Richard Dean Anderson Experience, at $400 a pop and with just 75 tickets available,  gives fans access to an "exclusive" meet and greet at a catered evening event.

Ticket prices to meet Shatner are the same, at similar events.

Dinner spots with various guests, including Patricia Quinn, Game of Thrones actors Jason Momoa and Maisie Williams, and Stargate's Teryl Rothery and Corin Nemec are available for $150.

The dinner with Colin Ferguson, best-known for his role as Sheriff Jack Carter on Eureka, is already sold out.

Tickets for premium experiences and dinners are available at www.ozcomiccon.com.

Schedules will be available on February 11.
