It's been eight years since The Office - the US version of Ricky Gervais' British hit - first went to air and this week we finally say goodbye.
After so long it's not only the end of a series; for fans, it's the end of a chapter in their lives. The Project's Charlie Pickering is one of those fans.
For Pickering, The Office was something he tuned in to at one point in his life and will farewell at a very different place. Just as much has changed in the halls of Dunder Mifflin as it has for him. Romances blossomed, careers changed and life is very different in 2013 than it was in 2004, for the characters and the Australian comic who watched them.
But for fans of an enduring TV series, not every finale is something to remember fondly. There have been a lot of great finales, but some have been plain weird.
Here is our list of shows that either ended perfectly, or failed miserably at the finish line.
They went home – well not Klinger, but that was the best joke of all – what more could we want for our favourite army doctors?
Locked up, sentenced to their own company, they still just sat talking about nothing.
Goodnight, Seattle, and good luck, Dr Crane, who returns to Charlotte and a hopeful future in Chicago.
So what do we do now? Let's go get a coffee. How perfect for a series where that was a way of life.
The tough guys always said you never see the one that gets you. And we didn't.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
She saved the world. It's what she was born to do. And she left an army of new slayers ready to take up the fight. Take that, evil!
Vince meets the girl of his dreams, turns his back on the life that was everything and they all lived happily ever after? What a load of trite tripe.
Packed to the Rafters
So Dave and Julie went where? What happened to the family? Did one of them really Skype in her finale performance? We're still confused.
OK, maybe not as confused as this hastily cobbled nonsense left us. Someone please explain what happened!
A bomb planted in their VCR blew them all up. No really, that's how they ended it.
Sex and the City
After six easons with the sassy, irreverent and potty-mouthed gals, they were rewarded with babies, mortgages and lonely dotage. They deserved better.
What's your most memorable ending and why?
