Regular readers probably know by now I'm a stickler for family dinners. In the extract from her terribly practical book Future Proofing Your Child, Kathy Walker, discusses how important it is, in this increasingly busy world, to make time for each other. Whether that be at the dinner table, reading before bed time, or even just driving home, one-on-one from sports training, or school, or walking around the supermarket. I'd like to think that this doesn't just apply to our children, that we should indeed be seeking one-on-one time with all the important people in our lives at some point in our day. So enjoy all the great stories, cook Maggie Beer's recipes and go sit back at the dinner table.
