Ceramic artist Gabrielle Wallington is getting all fired up for her trip to the US in August. She was chosen from more than two dozen applicants to receive the 24th annual Australian-American Association Canberra Scholarship. She will use the award - $6000 and a return economy airfare to Los Angeles - to travel to Asheville, North Carolina to undertake an unpaid apprenticeship with American wood-firer Josh Copus for a year.
