Literature professor George Falconer (Colin Firth) faces the
aftermath of his own private catastrophe.
At its most basic, A Single Man is a very small but powerful story about private grief. Don't be put off by fashion designer turned director Tom Ford - Ford's keen visual eye is apparant in every frame but wisely never upstages his actors. The touching central performance by Colin Firth lends the film an emotional honesty whatever your sexual orientation.
