Coldplay's Ghost Stories is the fastest selling album in Australia this year with 34,097 copies sold in the first week while former Australia's Got Talent winner Justice Crew has the most successful Australian single so far this year.
But the judges on the new season of The Voice didn't get an ARIA chart bounce last week for sales of previously released albums despite having a captive audience of more than 1.85 million people each night . The Channel Nine program won the ratings yesterday for the fourth consecutive Sunday.
The uptake of the Coldplay record overshadows last week's number one ARIA chart debut from The Black Keys' Turn Blue. Coldplay has had 10,520 sales after two weeks, with7500 sales in week one and 3020 in week two.
The much-hyped Michael Jackson Xscape generated 6665 sales in the first three days of being on sale, and 5495 sales in its first seven days on the shelf. It generated a two week tally of 12,610, placing it ahead of the No.1 debuting Black Keys record.
Justice Crew, the music/dance crew which won Australia's Got Talent in 2010, topped the singles chart with Que Sera for the third consecutive week, equalling Sheppard's Geronimo as the best result so far this year by an Australian artist.

Justice Crew also became the first act to receive one of ARIA's shiny new "#1 Chart Awards" for topping the pile last week. ARIA has introduced an Australia-shaped plaque for locals artists who make the number one spot in either the singles or albums chart.
According to ARIA, Australian artists have spent 34 weeks in either number one spot since January 2013, and it has retrospectively awarded those artists.
"We look forward to handing out many more awards to artists in the future," said Dan Rosen, ARIA CEO.
After this latest set of charts, The Voice judges might want to be careful with how much they criticise the show's current contestants because their own sales, admittedly for albums released some time ago, were low.
Ricky Martin Greatest Hits, originally released in 2011, came in at number 40 position on 548 sales. Kylie Minogue's Kiss Me Once, which reached number one on the charts in March, was at number 130, selling just 231 copies.
Sales of will.i.am's April 2013 release #Willpower dwindled to 218 copies. It went to number nine on the charts here last year. While Black Eyed Peas have inspired another 704 fans to download the group's 2009 worldwide hit I Gotta Feeling.
Joel Madden's band Good Charlotte's Greatest Hits sold only 86 copies last week, but then again it was released in 2010.
