Anonymous dance stars Daft Punk have been unmasked after a photo of them without their trademark helmets surfaced online.
The French duo, comprised of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, are rarely snapped without their robot helmets, but on Wednesday a picture of them dressed down in jeans and playing drinking games emerged on the web.
Electronic music duo The Knocks shared the snap on their Facebook page with the caption, "Daft Punk playing champagne beer pong (without helmets on) in the Sony offices," but they quickly removed the image, adding, "Guess we weren't supposed to post that pic."
In a recent interview, Bangalter discussed the pros and cons of hiding his identity. "One thing I like about the masks is that I don't have people constantly coming up to me and reminding me what I do,’"he told Rolling Stone.
"It's nice to be able to forget, but there are occasional downsides. Several years ago in Ibiza some guy ran up exorbitant bar tabs at clubs while claiming to be me."
