The little sister to New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde has proven that creative talent runs in the Yelich-O'Connor family.

India Yelich-O'Connor, 15, made her musical debut at the weekend, posting a cover of A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera's Say Something on Soundcloud. She linked to the cover on her blog, Genres of India.

Older sister Ella, 17, also known as Lorde, has been nominated for four Grammys at the upcoming awards, including song of the year for Royals. Lorde was signed with Universal at the tender age of 13 after a friend's father sent out her recordings to talent scouts.

But a recent interview by Australian music website FasterLouder said India could be mistaken for the family celebrity.

The article said she had "a way of commanding your attention even among a group more than adept on that front".

The family also consists of father, Vic, an older sister, Jerry, and a younger brother, Angelo.

Mother Sonja Yelich is an award-winning poet.
