A remix of a song titled “Skirt” has been released by Los Angeles based producer Nom De Strip.

“Chris Lake dropped the dub version of ‘Skirt’, my track with Kylie Minogue at Pacha Ibiza!” he wrote on Facebook on Tuesday after posting the track on the music sharing site Sound Cloud.

Chris Lake is a house music DJ and producer who splits his time between London and LA – where Minogue has been based for several months recording her new album.

The single, which features Minogue’s trademark breathy vocals, was released on her 45^th birthday and comes a year after she released the single Timebomb in May 2012.

The pint-sized songstress made headlines earlier this year when it was announced she was splitting with her manager of 25-years Terry Blamey. She was also rumoured to be retiring her "Singing Budgie" persona in order to pursue an acting career. Claims which she refuted via social media.

“#lovers #notquitting,” she tweeted back in January.

“I didn’t ever really consider giving up completely, but I was kind of seduced into going back to the acting world. But music brought me back and I’m so happy, it’s just been a very different experience recording here in Los Angeles,” she told Perez Hilton.

Since leaving her UK base for the US, a market she has been longing to crack into, Minogue has now joined Jay-Z's entertainment company Roc Nation and is putting the finishing touches on her 12^th studio album.

Even though she was busy working in the studio on her birthday on Tuesday, she has taken time out recently to fulfill her acting dreams. Last week she attended the Cannes Film Festival and starred in a short film for comedy video website Funny Or Die in which she played the real life version of She Ra, the Princess of Power.

Minogue’s last studio album, Aphrodite, was released in 2010 and reached number one on the Australian and UK music charts.
