  jerry lee lewiswa an early R&R performer of questionable talent, made acceptable by his bogan credentials. he was there at "Sun" and except for a couple of songs mentioned in the review was really a country singer. His limited ability at the piano should hardly be mentioned.
  Bruce Elder in his review shows his bias by relegating Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent and Fats Domino to the level of also rans and by including Buddy Holly as a founding father. The first great burst of commercial Rock'n'Roll was faltering by the time Holly came along as part of the wave of performers who turned it into insipid Pop music.
  Holly was made famous by his death and a mention by the Beatles, hardly R & R greats themselves.
  There was some great roaring raging music that made waves from about 1954, and it continually crossed over with Rockabilly, Hillbilly and notably Negro race music and Jerry Lee Lewis rightly should be considered no more than a contributor to a music that became unrecognizable very quickly.
