The latest GfK Radio Ratings Survey reveals 666 Canberra has reined in 17.9 per cent of listeners in 2015's third quarter, a jump of 1.4 percentage points from the station's previous share of 16.5 per cent of listeners.

FM 104.7's audience share has dropped almost 3 percentage points from the previous quarter: from 18.8 per cent of Canberra listeners to 15.9 per cent.

ABC 666 continues to dominate breakfast ratings with 23.2 per cent of listeners tuning in to Breakfast with Philip Clark - a jump from the 21 per cent who listened in the previous quarter.

Scotty and Nige on 104.7 claimed silver with almost 15 per cent of listeners, a drop of 2.3 percentage points. That loss of listeners in the breakfast market was second only to Fran Kelly on ABC Radio National, down 3 percentage points to 10.9 per cent.

Mix 106.3's Kristen and Rod attracted 10.1 per cent of listeners, slightly down on their previous share, followed by Triple J on 9.1 per cent.

The other big mover in the breakfast market was ABCFM, which attracted 8.9 per cent of listeners, a 2.1 percentage point jump.

The quarterly radio figures reveal the capital's radio market share, or the percentage of the total radio listening audience tuning into a particular radio station at a particular time.

Despite 104.7's fall from top place, the commercial station is still attracting the highest number of Canberrans travelling home from work.

More than one fifth of listeners (20.9 per cent) tuned into the station's drive program - a small drop from the 22.9 people tuning in during the previous quarter.

Mix 106.3 attracted the second largest portion of listeners (14.9 per cent), followed by ABC 666 with 14.2 per cent.

Canberrans seem to be literally switching off from federal politics with Radio National's audience figures also taking a small dive since the last quarter.

In addition to losing big in the breakfast ratings, RN Drive dropped from 11 per cent to 9 per cent.

Audience share also varies substantially between demographics in the ACT.

Canberra's younger listeners aged 10 to 17 years old are overwhelmingly tuning into Canberra's premier commercial stations, 104.7 (35.2 per cent) and 106.3 (23.4 per cent).

Young adults aged 18 to 24 years are dividing their time between 104.7 (36.5 per cent) and Triple J, ABC's music radio station geared to younger listeners (22.8 per cent).

Adults aged 25 to 39 years of age are more varied with their frequency choices with 22.3 per cent tuning into 104.7, 17.8 per cent tuning into ABC 666 and 13.2 per cent listening to Triple J.

Mix 106.3 attracted almost a third of listeners aged 40 to 54 years old (27.9 per cent), while listeners aged 55 to 64 and over 65s prefer ABC 666 (21.5 per cent and 29.6 per cent respectively).
