An Idiot Abroad: The Bucket List, Saturday, February 11

An Idiot Abroad.

An Idiot Abroad.

Ten, 9.30pm

An engaging, if slightly uneven, travel series from Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington. Gervais's performance style is well known to viewers so here we have an opportunity to learn more about the two slightly lesser-known elements of this trio.

Tonight, Gervais and Merchant send the hapless Pilkington on Russia's Trans-Siberian Express, with detours through Mongolia and China and even a cameo from Warwick Davis, the star of another Gervais-Merchant vehicle, Life's Too Short.

Having Gervais and Merchant "guide" Pilkington's trip from London is an awkward mechanism but the show has its moments.
