Welsh, 59, revealed on Friday he had resigned after more than a decade with 2CC, because of issues with management.
"I want to make it clear I don’t want to go," he said.
"There’s an issue in middle-management that has been festering for 18 months and it’s still there and it hasn’t been addressed."
While he didn’t want to go into details, Welsh said he had had to go into bat for a colleague and was upset with the response from management.
Welsh, 59, has been in radio for more than 30 years.
His last day on air will be November 15.
"I honestly love this job and the older I get the more I realise what a privilege it is."
Popular Bignasca is heading to Newcastle with her husband Matty White, who is the new NXFM / KOFM content director. She will see out the rest of the year on-air. And Solly has already announced he is moving to Bangkok, finishing in December
