Kim Kardashian wants own sitcom

Kim Kardashian is reportedly planning to star in her own sitcom.

The TV personality enjoys appearing in reality shows such as Keeping Up with the Kardashians but now feels ready to try her hand at something new. She apparently feels a comedy series is the right move for her to make next.

"Kim wants to move beyond reality TV and become a comedy actress," a source told the New York Post. "She really wants to be the next Sofia Vergara."

The star is apparently eager to work on a project by herself. Her family - including her sisters Kourtney and Khloe - appear alongside her on her reality shows and she also works with them on her fashion lines.

"Acting is something she wants to do just for her," another insider explained.

Kim appeared on 30 Rock this week in the US, later saying she had "a blast" on set. She is also due to appear in the movie The Marriage Counselor, due for release in 2013.

Further details of Kardashian's new TV plan aren't known, although there is speculation TV host Ryan Seacrest might be involved in the project. His company is behind Kim's reality programs.

Kardashian's spokesperson hasn't commented on the report.
