Departing My Kitchen Rules cook Angela Kennedy has labelled controversial pair Sophie and Ashlee as "immature" and "pathetic".

Victorian gatecrashers Angela and Melina were eliminated from the Seven Network series on Wednesday, when they lost a sudden-death cook-off against Queensland brother and sister team Jake and Elle.

It was a disappointing end for the Italians - but not as disappointing, says Kennedy, as meeting fellow gatecrashers Sophia and Ashlee from New South Wales.

While the NSW duo unleash their verbal venom on all teams, Kennedy said she and Melina Bagnato were unaware of just how pointed the comments about them were, until they saw the series for themselves.

"We would never accept people treating us that way, but the thing is they did it all behind our backs," Kennedy said.

"They just happen to be really immature and their behaviour was pathetic.

"They never said anything to our faces because if they did, we would have said something."

Kennedy and Bagnato are not the first team to comment about Ashlee and Sophia's direct nature.

Other eliminated contestants have fired parting shots at the NSW duo.

Recently eliminated Mick Newell, of the Tasmanian father-and-son team, called the duo nasty.

"They (Ashlee and Sophia) are not acting - as when the cameras were off they were just as nasty," he said. "It's good casting."

Stefano Guerra also blamed the pair for "destroying  a beautiful moment", when he proposed to Lisa Gabel, who Ashlee and Sophia then labelled a "cougar" and said it was a "mother and son" relationship.

Kennedy says in recent weeks she and Bagnato have been contacted by several MKR contestants apologising for joining in on Ashlee and Sophia's criticism of the Victorians on air.

"I've had a lot of contestants since the show has aired come and apologise to me and Melina, saying they had no idea how bad it was," Kennedy said.

"We did try and explain it to them (when it was being recorded), but they didn't quite get it."

Bagnato and Kennedy didn't so much bomb-out in the sudden-death cook-off but were soundly beaten because of the superb dessert Jake and Elle served up.

"It did seem our entree and mains were par and then their dessert just blew us out of the water," Kennedy said.
