The Voice viewers and contestants alike were struck by a sense of deja vu during Monday night's instalment of the reality singing show.

As the Nine Network contest edges closer to the live finals, performers who narrowly missed a spot in the showdown round were given a second shot at the last chance sing-offs.

The catch? They had to sing their blind audition song again.

It was a decision some viewers - and contestants - weren't happy with.

"It feels like we've been watching for 256 years, are we there yet?" one fan tweeted.

Another quipped the conceit was a "stupid idea" that dragged the reality contest out too much.

Team Ricky competitor Fely Irvine seemed to agree. Posting a screenshot to her Instagram account, the former Hi-5 member aired her frustration at having to sing Rihanna's We Found Love a second time.

"Not too happy about having to reprise my blind audition," she wrote. "But these are the cards we've been (dealt)."

As the show continued, Irvine then tweeted a whole verse of her performance had been edited out.

She was eventually beaten for the remaining live final spot by Elly Oh, who won her place with an energetic revival of her Mamma Knows Best.

Oh's confident performance featured none of the shyness she'd hinted at in the previous episode.

She revealed on Sunday that her mother thought she was too ostentatious on stage - advice she apparently brushed off as she reprised her audition in a skimpy black and gold ensemble.

On Team Will, piano man Mat Verevis won a live final billing by introducing a playful new quality to his rendition of New York State of Mind.

Meanwhile, Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden couldn't turn down rancher Holly Tapp's sweetly styled That's It, I Quit, I'm Moving On.

Sensitive crooner Robbie Balmer was Kylie's final pick, having finally managed to overcome a bad habit of keeping his eyes closed throughout his performances.

Didn't anyone tell him blind auditions are over?

They are finally over, right?
