Foxtel has commissioned 10 one-hour episodes of The Real Housewives of Australia for its flagship reality channel, Arena.
"It will tap into the qualities and idiosyncrasies that are uniquely Australian whilst embracing all the drama, antics and extravagance we have come to love when observing these pampered wives of the uber riche", says Foxtel executive director of television Brian Walsh.
While Canberra might not be considered as chic as, say Sydney or Melbourne, dare we propose we have more than our share of affluent, bourgeois, back-stabbing housewives whose outrageous antics would pull in millions of viewers?
Who's our LuAnn or our Ramona? Surely there's someone as outspoken as Bethenny or NeNe?
We don't want to name names – although, would nominating someone for Real Housewives actually be an insult? – but we'd love to hear your thoughts. Would the Real Housewives of Canberra please stand up?
