King Fishers, National Geographic, 8.30pm
It's a rod-and-reel version of Come Dine with Me as three keen fishermen from Australia, Thailand and Britain take turns hosting fishing trips on their own turf. The winner isn't necessarily the one who lands the most fish - after each trip the guests award their host bonus points based on how much they enjoyed his hospitality and entertainment. It's a good format on paper but tonight's episode falls a little flat. Partly because the fish are none too keen to bite and partly because as entertainment co-ordinators these guys make great fisherman. The first trip proceeds smoothly enough, with Darwin local Shane taking Thai guy Oz and Brit Jason out on a croc-infested river looking for barramundi. In Thailand though, the giant snakehead prove elusive and Oz's idea of entertainment is trying to gross out his guests at market stalls full of insects and offal. Jason's foggy, freezing, bait-fishing excursion to the River Trent is also a fizzer.
Fast N' Loud, Discovery Turbo Max, 8.30pm
This is another of Discovery's innumerable custom car- and bike-making shows. The action takes place at the Gas Monkey Garage in Dallas, Texas. Tonight the team is focused on doing up a '59 Apache pick-up truck - and on producing sketches and stunts intended to needle the guys from American Chopper.
