Messages of support for radio and TV host Em Rusciano have flooded in on Twitter after she revealed she had separated from her husband.
Rusciano, who hosted 92.9's breakfast show for four years and currently hosts the national show Mamamia Today on the same network, posted a blog on the female-focussed news website Mamamia on February 14 to say she was "broken" after she and her husband of five years, Scott Barrow, separated.
"I wanted to be in control of how people found out what has happened recently in my life," she wrote.
"I don't particularly want to go into details. It's truly no one's fault and I still love my husband but we bring out the very worst in each other. It has been that way for many years, this separation has been a long time coming."
The once Australian Idol top ten competitor has two children with Barrow.
"My children truly are my main priority, so far they have been bloody spectacular," she wrote.
"My eldest in particular, she hops into bed with me each night as she knows I don't sleep well on my own.
"They know that their Dad and I love them and that they can see either of us whenever they want and they can also see and feel the calm that had set upon the house now that my husband and I are apart."
Followers of Rusciano's blog left sympathetic messages on the website and via Twitter after she appealed to them for comfort.
"I know a lot of you have felt as I do now, tell me it passes," she wrote.
"Promise me it passes."
The some time The Project contributor sent several thank you tweets to her fans and friends including fellow radio host Jo Stanley and singer Ricki Lee.
