NSW emergency services received reports of damage to houses and flooding from early on Tuesday morning.
Streets were flooded in Narooma Flat with residents reporting well over 200mm of rain from 10am, according to the Narooma News.
Despite the deluge, all Year 12 students sitting their HSC at Narooma High School managed to make it in to sit their second English exam in the morning and Industrial Technology exam in the afternoon according to Deputy Principal John Melville.
Mr Melville said "there was no flooding at the school, the issue was for students who live on farms since some of the roads to get into the school were flooded."
Between Bermagui and Tathra, the Bermagui Tathra Rd at the Wapengo Bridge was closed and the Bega Valley Shire Council advised people to use the Princes Hwy.
At Bermagui, the Dickinson Oval, Bermagui Public School as well as other low lying areas were also flooded, according to Narooma News.
Water was also across the road in several sections of the Princes Hwy between Bega and Batemans Bay on Tuesday.
The Princes Highway at Ulladulla was also closed to light vehicles on Tuesday afternoon near Pitman Avenue due to flooding.
The Bureau of Meteorology also issued a warning for heavy rainfall and damaging winds on the South Coast to continue on Tuesday afternoon and flash flooding in low lying areas.
