The 2009 TILT Busking Festival is gearing up once again to bombard the city with local, national and international buskers and we want you to register your act by Friday, 4 September 2009.

This years Tilt Festival, in conjunction with Floriade, will provide buskers the opportunity to ‘peg their pitch’ and ‘throw their hat out’ to thousands of tourists and locals who celebrate spring in the National Capital each year.

For all budding school aged buskers the “So You Think You Can Busk” program will offer young people a chance to both show off their talent and shape up their skills with some of Australia’s most talented street performers.

For all those aged 60 and over, the Born Again Buskers category will showcase their wealth of talent to appreciative audiences.

In conjunction with FM 104.7, Tilt 2009 has a daily cash competition to “Bust the Busker”. Daily clues will be given to the whereabouts of our signature Tilt performer and the first listener to find him or her and call in will receive $250!

Other enhancements for 2009 include:

• a permanent hub for the festival known as Buskers Central located in Petrie Plaza with daily performances from 11am – 3pm

• Lunchtime chill-out sessions each Wednesday to help de-stress office workers

• Sunday Youth Arena with hands on workshops and performer mentoring

• An after hours Comedy Festival held in city clubs and pubs
