'Drawn from Strathnairn' is an exhibition of drawings by members, studio holders and workshop participants. It showcases the various ways in which the creative atmosphere, activities and surrounds inspires the artist.
Formerly an early 20th century soldier settlement, the Strathnairn Homestead is picturesquely located among vineyards and fields on the north western boundary of Canberra. This unique rural haven is also the home of Strathnairn Arts Association which manages the Gallery, SCOOP artists retail outlet, as well as 16 studios occupied by active practicing artists. Strathnairn Arts Association performs an integral role in the arts, cultural life and history of the Belconnen region and Canberra.
There is no restriction in media or subject matter or interpretation. The result will be an exhibition which is interesting, varied and insightful.
