Description:
Windellama Small Farms on again
Staying with last year's extremely popular theme “Simply Sustainable”, the day will feature demonstrations plus educational and commercial exhibits to provide visitors with a wealth of ideas and information about living and working sustainably.
This year the Field Day will include two presentations from special guest speaker, Dr Michael Archinal, the well-known television and radio presenter, writer and owner of four veterinary practices. Dr Archinal will discuss the five most common problems afflicting animals on small farms (and how to deal with them), and a simple technique to reduce the possibility of dog bites in children.
The day will also include dog exhibitions, a reptile awareness show, straw bale building, craft and market stalls, vintage machinery, and local spinners and weavers.
There's entertainment for all ages with live music, hot and cold refreshment, plus a children's area offering a jumping castle, face painting, animal nursery and pre-schoolers craft activities.
The Windellama Small Farms Field Day will be held at the local community hall and grounds, which are located at the corner of Oallen Ford Road and Windellama Road. Gates open at 9 a.m and there is ample free parking.
Windellama is located 20 minutes from Goulburn or Tarago; 30 minutes from Marulan or Nerriga; and one hour from Canberra.
