This is how each state and territory voted, with NSW residents the least likely to vote in favour of same-sex marriage. 

Here's the top five Yes and No electorates. 

And here's how many people voted yes in capital cities compared to regional voters in Australia's biggest five states. 

Looking at participation shows older Australians were slightly more likely to respond to the survey but results were fairly consistent across the board.
